Dr. S M Lulla (1924 – 1996)

Dr. Lulla was Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry at Nair Hospital and Topiwala National Medical College. He was also attached to Hinduja, RK Mission and Inlaks Hospitals. He had keen interest in Religion, Philosophy, and Psychotherapy.

Dr. S M Lulla Oration Award

This award has been instituted in 1996 out of an endowment received from the family of Late Dr. S. M. Lulla. This oration may be on any aspect of Psychiatry & will be delivered at each annual day of Bombay Psychiatric Society.

• Rules common to all awards of Bombay Psychiatric Society will be also applicable to this award. Any member of Bombay Psychiatric Society may propose the name of any Psychiatrist for the Oration award.
• The Oration paper will become a property of the BPS & shall be published in the BPS bulletin or whenever possible. The speaker can choose any topic for the oration. The title of Oration shall be intimated to the Chairperson of the Award Committee 1 month before the Annual Day of BPS
• The Awardee should be from Mumbai or the outskirts of Mumbai, and should be a member of BPS.
• The Award consists of a scroll & a memento.
