Bombay Psychiatric Society
Bombay Psychiatric Society was formally named and constitution adopted.
The society began functioning formally with meetings at the late capt.(Dr.) K.A.J. Lalkaka’s residence at Kemp’s corner.
At the first general body meeting Dr. Lalkaka was elected president and Dr. K.R.Saraf became the first Hon. Secretary of our Society.
On the Silver Jubilee of BPS, an award was sponsored by BPS for best paper at IPS, which is given every year.
With the help of Dr A. K. Naik, all matters with the Charity Commissioner’s Office were sorted out, and BPS was successful in getting IT Exemption for donations to our society.
- Dr K. S. Ayyar was instrumental in the institution of different awards in BPS.
- First photo directory was released.
The ECT guidelines were finalized. These guidelines are used by most Psychiatrists in the city of Mumbai.
BPS went online with its first website.
A new photo directory was released.
The new BPS logo was finalised.
BPS goes green.
BPS website was revamped.
